Emily began working with Project Why in 2012 during a gap year between high school and college. While with Project Why she taught in the special education classroom and fell irrevocably in love with her students and with India. She has returned five times and is currently working alongside the founder and a longtime donor to revamp Project Why's social media presence. Emily is also working on establishing an American based NGO to support Project Why with funds and volunteers. Emily started Project Why: Bard through the Trustee Leader Scholar program at Bard College in hopes of sharing her passion with her fellow students and opening a new avenue for volunteers to join the Project Why family. The photo is of Emily with the founder of Project Why, Anouradha Bakshi (right) and the project director, Rani Bhardwaj (left).
Emily was recently featured in a 26 part series on Project Why by a blogger supported by the Singaporean Book Council. Check out the post here!
